Precision and reliability are essential in research laboratories and surgical applications, and WPI’s disposable scalpel blades are designed to deliver consistently sharp, dependable performance. Razor sharp and available in a variety of shapes, disposable scalpel blades support a wide range of tasks, from gross dissection to precise, controlled cuts, with each blade shape optimized for specific applications such as long incisions or fine detail work. These scalpels consist of a reusable handle paired with sterile, individually packaged disposable blades that are typically sold separately. Using a new blade for each procedure helps maintain the highest standards of cleanliness while eliminating the inconsistency, downtime, and maintenance associated with re-sharpening reusable blades. Disposable scalpel blades also streamline workflows by reducing the need for extensive sterilization between uses. Packaged in boxes of 100, each blade is supplied as a sterile, single-use unit and should be disposed of properly after use.

Attaching a disposable scalpel blade to the reusable handle is easy.

1. Grasp the blade with a needle holder just above the opening of the non-cutting side.
2. Align the groove on the handle with the opening of the blade.
3. Slide the blade into the handle until it clicks into place.
