Goldstein Retractor

Goldstein Retractors are surgical instrument used mostly for plastic and reconstructive surgery. Retractors expose and hold back tissues, giving you optimal visibility and access to the surgical site. The Goldstein retractor is used for surgeries where precise tissue manipulation is required. For small animal surgery, a Goldstein retractor can be used to gently retract the skin and soft tissues at the incision site, allowing you to access the underlying anatomical structures. In procedures involving blood vessels, the Goldstein retractor can help expose and isolate vessels for vascular anastomosis or other manipulations. In some neurosurgical procedures on small animals, the Goldstein retractor may be used to retract the scalp and soft tissues, providing access to the skull and brain. WPI's Goldstein Retractors have 3 sharp prongs on each blade and a knurled thumbscrews to adjust the spread of the blades and lock them into place. They come in multiples sizes with a maximum spread between 1 and 3.5 cm. These are manufactured from surgical grade stainless steel and are suitable for autoclaving or chemical sterilization.
