Gelpi Retractor, Self-Retaining

The Gelpi Retractor is a self-retaining tissue retraction for use during surgical procedures. Self-retaining retractors remain in place once they are positioned, freeing your hands. The retractor has two sharp, hooked ends that are used to grasp and retract tissue. This double-ended design allows for versatility in retraction and enables the surgeon to adjust the retractor as needed during the procedure. Gelpi Retractors have a ratchet mechanism that allows you to adjust the distance between the two ends to accommodate different tissue thicknesses and provides better control over the retraction. The retractor has fine, pointed tips for precise tissue manipulation with minimal tissue trauma. The sharp tips ensure a secure grip of the tissue without causing excessive damage or slippage. Choose from your length, 9 cm (3.5"), 11.5 cm (4.5"), or 14 cm (5.5") long. Choose a shorter retractor for a shallower or smaller incision. The longer retractors work better for deeper surgical sites, for access to posterior structures, for larger incisions, or for obese patients. These Gelpi Retractors are manufactured from surgical grade stainless steel, which is autoclavable. WPI recommends properly cleaning all your surgical instruments promptly after use. This improves the useable lifespan of your surgical tools.
