Multiplexed TEER-on-Chip Platform

Our breakthrough TEER-on-Chip platform is an innovative system using the WPI EVOM™ technology to enable real-time, multiplexed trans-endothelial electrical resistance (TEER) measurements for advanced on-chip models such as blood-brain barrier (BBB), gut, liver, kidney, and iPSC’s. Modeled using SynVivo's SynTEER chips, the 3-plex, 2-chamber devices can measure a variety of cell types with WPI-embedded TEER technology. The EVOM™ Chip platform is the first in a series of models that combine popular commercialized microfluidic organ-on-chip devices with WPI’s precision TEER measurement EVOM™ instrumentation and electrode embedding to deliver unparalleled insights into barrier function, permeability, and drug transport in physiologically-relevant conditions. Researchers can now perform simultaneous, high-throughput barrier assessments across multiple channels, dramatically accelerating drug discovery, neurovascular research, and safety toxicology.

The EVOM™ Chip Platform was originally developed for TEER measurements on the SynVivo Blood-Brain Barrier (BBB) Chip and was designed in accordance with organ-on-a-chip (OOC) standards to support broad compatibility across microphysiological systems. By integrating standardized electrodes into the architecture of other OOC devices, researchers can readily adapt a wide range of organ-on-a-chip platforms for use with the EVOM™ Chip Platform, enabling consistent and reproducible TEER measurements across diverse applications.
